“Go big or don’t go to Portland: If we are going to convert any parks into private spaces, let’s do something dramatic, beautiful, energizing and timeless. We should have buyers who will build something world-class. Let’s make sure any park conversions transform Portland toward being the Paris of small cities, not just another cookie-cutter, nondescript place.”—
A big thank you to all who voted for Unseen Portland in the Portland Phoenix’s Best Of Readers Poll. It’s very humbling to know people enjoy visiting a blog started a little over 4 years ago on a whim and a desire to document the lesser-known side of Portland, Maine.
Along the way I’ve been lucky to have some spectacular views of Portland submitted by some truly amazing photographers.
I encourage you to visit any and all of the photographer’s sites that submit, as well as taking the plunge to submit photos yourself. The only major requirements are that the photo is (mostly) in focus and that a person is not the subject of the photo.
You don’t need a nice camera (I only use my iPhone) or fancy filters. Just a desire to share a unique view of this great city.
Thank you once again to the best and original Portland.
